This is why it's not a great idea to explain your own English definition off the top of your head.

1. Not just loss of balance:
"characterized by potentially severe and incapacitating episodes of vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss, and a feeling of fullness in the ear." [Wp]

2. Not known to be caused by a stroke:
"The cause of Ménière's disease is unclear, but likely involves both genetic and environmental factors." [Wp]
Diff:
- 美尼爾病 美尼尔病 [Mei3 ni2 er3 bing4] /Meniere's disease (loss of balance after stroke)/
+ 美尼爾病 美尼尔病 [Mei3 ni2 er3 bing4] /Meniere's disease/

- 美尼爾氏綜合症 美尼尔氏综合症 [Mei3 ni2 er3 shi4 zong1 he2 zheng4] /Meniere's disease (loss of balance after stroke)/
+ 美尼爾氏綜合症 美尼尔氏综合症 [Mei3 ni2 er3 shi4 zong1 he2 zheng4] /Meniere's disease/
