Editor: Current definition isn't necessarily wrong, even if the adjectival sense is correct. Kroll's Dictionary of Classical and Medieval Chinese has "heavy snowfall, blanket of snow; blizzard" (and he indicates 2nd tone, as does at least one Tw dictionary).

- 雱 雱 [pang2] /heavy fall of rain or snow/
+ 雱 雱 [pang1] /(literary) (of rainfall or snowfall) heavy/
