<< review queue entry 75047 - submitted by 'kbaiko' >> According to various online and physical dictionaries this character is a) pronounced pang1 not pang2 b) literary c) an adjective --- https://www.zdic.net/hans/%E9%9B%B1 pāng ㄆㄤˉ ◎ 雨雪下得很大的样子:“北风其凉,雨雪其~。” http://m.xinhuanet.com/tj/2017-11/03/c_1121900464.htm Interesting article (to me, at least) with a lot of characters with a 雨 on top ----------------------------------- Editor: Current definition isn't necessarily wrong, even if the adjectival sense is correct. Kroll's Dictionary of Classical and Medieval Chinese has "heavy snowfall, blanket of snow; blizzard" (and he indicates 2nd tone, as does at least one Tw dictionary). |
