Our current def was copied from ABC, which copied it from Wu.

But "nothing at all in common" is too strong a statement in most cases.

When comparing a large number of things, 各不相同 means that they *vary* quite a bit, not that they "have nothing at all in common".

E.g.
不同巧克力磨成粉狀,色相和黏著度各不相同。
This means
"When they are ground, different chocolate types yield powder of varying colors and stickiness."
> They are not saying that the powders are all *totally* different from each other ("nothing at all in common").

我國公路分國道、省道、縣道和鄉道4個層級,管理機關和設置標準各不相同。
"Taiwan's roads are divided into a four-tier system of national, provincial, county and township highways, managed by different authorities and built to different standards.
> They are saying the standards *differ*. It would be absurd to say that the standards have *nothing* in common with each other.
Diff:
- 各不相同 各不相同 [ge4 bu4 xiang1 tong2] /to have nothing in common with each other (idiom)/
+ 各不相同 各不相同 [ge4 bu4 xiang1 tong2] /to be quite varied; each one is different/
