But in any case, some of the usage of 捡漏 you provided seems to indicate that the seller's ignorance isn't a necessary element. The last two sentences seem to be cases where the "score a bargain" sense has evolved to encompass more general favorable situations, such as receiving unworn clothes from one's daughter or finding a good parking spot. Some dictionaries have a "nitpick" sense as well. |
