Did you pick it up from a dictionary, or did you actually come across it in context somewhere? I prefer submissions based on observation of actual usage, because dictionaries contain a lot of what a friend of mine calls "zombie entries", i.e. "obscure allusions phrased in high falutin' language that I doubt anybody has ever used since the Qing Dynasty. They are kept alive by rampant copying: nobody bothers to evaluate their utility." Also, the Baike reference says 成語用法 : 作謂語, so maybe it would be more appropriate to define it as a verb ("to quarrel") than as a noun. Anyway, if you can provide examples of usage, that might help to justify its inclusion, and also determine whether it's typically used as a verb phrase. |
