<< review queue entry 72932 - submitted by 'bezier_benzoate' >> Seen on the front page of Baidu Baike in an announcement: ----------------------------------- Editor: "fooled and misled" strikes me as Chinglish. The redundancy (fooled + misled) seems to be mimicking the Chinese (上當 + 受騙), and there are more idiomatic English expressions that better convey the meaning. I mean, if I fell for this Baidu scam, then "I was fooled and misled" is not the phrase I'd use. |
