“超值”不是名词。
-------------------------------------

Editor: I would argue that the gloss you propose to delete ("great value") is actually much better than the one you retained ("well worthwhile").

First, "great value" – even though it has the *form* of a noun – is commonly used idiomatically as a stative verb. You can see this in the following examples, where "great value" is used in coordination with adjectival phrases like "well presented" and "ideal for any occasion" and "delicious".

- "Their pasta is delicious and great value."
- "Our classes are great value and fun."
- "The lunch specials are great value, and well presented, as are all the other meals."
- "Our fun and cheeky label combining red and white blends are easy drinking, fruit driven wines that are great value and ideal for any occasion."

One doesn't normally say things like "X is A and B" where A is an adjective and B is a noun. For example, it's not good English to say "She is very intelligent and a doctor." A and B can both be nouns or both be stative verbs, but not a mixture of the two. Yet it's perfectly acceptable to say "Their pasta is delicious and great value."

Admittedly, it would be clearer if we changed the wording from "great value" to "to be great value". But in fact, we have already done that: the definition was rewritten a few weeks ago, and now reads:
/to be worth more than the asking price; to be great value/

* * *

"well worthwhile" isn't such a good definition, because 超值 usually relates to the pricing of products and services, whereas "well worthwhile" is not necessarily about getting value for money.

All of the following activities can be said to be "well worthwhile", but it's not about money in these cases, whereas 超值 usually is.
- going on a hiking trip in a beautiful location
- getting a dental checkup
- learning a second language
- reading "The Great Gatsby"

超值 is about money in all the following examples:

小姐啊。你自己也说了,这套房子和小区是一流的。这么好的设施和地段,我只收5000块,绝对超值。

A: 那费用肯定也很高吧。("Then the fee must be very high.")
B: 十万左右吧。但我觉得算超值了。 ("Around 100,000. However, I think it's great value.")

其實,只要稍微做點功課就會發現,最超值也最受好評的入門首選,就是由合作金庫銀行舉辦的暑期桌球育樂營。

而且還能享有「永久免費維修」的超值服務。

消費者如何以最少的錢買到最超值的商品;

- 那费用肯定也很高吧。
- 十万左右吧。但我觉得算超值了。

# - 超值 超值 [chao1 zhi2] /great value/well worthwhile/
# + 超值 超值 [chao1 zhi2] /well worthwhile/
