I think 虽然 means "even if" only in the 2nd sense. But since "even if" usually has the 1st sense, it is misleading to include it in a definition of 虽然, afaics. * * * Basic principle: if you define a Chinese word with an English gloss that matches perfectly and is unambiguous, don't mess things up by adding another gloss that is ambiguous. |
