That dictionary incorporates a large number of Beijing dialectal terms that had been collected by the noted linguist 陆志韦, so yes, 大不列蹀 may be dialectal. It may also be dated. But neither being dated nor being dialectal is reason to delete a word from cc-cedict: we have plenty of dated terms and plenty of dialectal terms. ABC also has an entry for 大不列蹀. However, that entry has a note indicating that the entry is derived from Iwanami. Our entry, in turn, was copied by one of our former editors from ABC. So it may be like this: 陆志韦's list > Iwanami > ABC > cc-cedict Since ABC derived its entry from Iwanami, their definition ("be too casual/informal") was presumably a translation of Iwanami's Japanese definition: えらそうなふりをしている. But Iwanami's definition actually means something more like "full of oneself". Also, Iwanami indicates first tone for the last two syllables (列蹀). Ex: 那个少年名叫楚琅，看起来大不列蹀，其实就是大不列蹀，从小到大他作为家族的二儿子，虽然地位不高于长兄，但是父亲却是最疼爱他的。 |
