Who was going to win the French presidential election in a few weeks, she wondered aloud to several seat mates in the front row.
坐在观众席前排,她与身边的几个人交流着谁将在几周后赢得法国总统大选。

As she raced down the steep incline, she saw the five-year-old, now in the front seat, clearly trying to stop the car.
当她顺着陡峭的斜坡向下飞奔时,她看到五岁的费思正坐在前排座位上--很明显,她在试图把汽车停下来。

Editor: Does any dictionary give something like 最靠前的座位之一 as one of the meanings of 前排?

"front seat" is a useful term to use in translating a sentence like 他坐在前排 into idiomatic English, but as a *definition* of 前排, it's wrong IMO.

If the context is people getting into a car, 他坐在前排 can be translated as
- He sat up front.
- He took the front seat.
- He sat next to the driver.
- He sat in the front row.
The last one sounds strange in this context, but that's because Chinese should not be translated too literally.
Diff:
# 前排 前排 [qian2 pai2] /front row/front seat/
+ 前排 前排 [qian2 pai2] /front row/
