I reckon it was a series of three failures: First, the original submitter probably used the following submission page https://cc-cedict.org/editor/editor.php?handler=InsertSimpleEntry ... and entered 被困 as the simplified form, then clicked "Guess from simplified word". That page converts *困* to *睏*, so unfortunately, it was wrong in this case. Second, the submitter most likely didn't check that the simp-to-trad conversion had been done correctly. Thirdly, in processing the submission, I focused on the submitted definition, and forgot to check the trad and simp characters. |
