<< review queue entry 71294 - submitted by 'cws' >> Saw in: https://www.netflix.com/watch/80118063?t=343#:~:text=你把那个活动场地资料再查一遍 ----------------------------------- Editor: It can be a place for *any* kind of activity (活动). "venue" implies that the activity is organized/planned, but it can be spontaneous, unorganized activity. For example, 活动场地 may be a children's playground, as in the following article: https://www.sohu.com/a/323374675_556617 ... or it may refer to the outdoor sports/play area of a school: - 健身广场和公园遍布全县各城镇,标准化操场和活动场地普建于全县各学校、 ... - 这样的学校规模比较小,活动场地少,选修科目少,学生在教室里学习的时间比较长。 In one example I saw, it was a place where the activity was scientific research. In another case, 活动场地 was used to describe a Buddhist temple where believers would "meet to undertake spiritual practice together after the working day was done, or on their days off." And so on. The results in Reverso may be skewed to commercial 活动场地s (i.e. "event venues"). A similar thing happens on Google -- if you search for "apple", the results are skewed to computer-related results rather than fruit-related ones. |
