See dicts.

All male animals have 精巢 (spermaries) but not all male animals have testicles.
e.g. "Observations on the spermary of the freshwater spiny eel, Macrognathus aculeatum (Bloch), during the reproductive cycle."

"spermary : (noun) The male germ-gland or essential sexual organ, of whatever character; the sperm-gland, or spermatic organ, or seminal gonad, in which spermatozoa are generated, in its specialized condition in the higher animals known as the testis or testicle."

"spermary (Zoology) any organ in which spermatozoa are produced, esp a testis"
Diff:
- 精巢 精巢 [jing1 chao2] /testes/
+ 精巢 精巢 [jing1 chao2] /(zoology) spermary; (in higher animals) testicle/
