I want to get rid of the semicolon in this entry, since we are going to use semicolons to separate glosses.

I propose we use Yves's proposal (back in 2010):
/animal cited in ancient texts, resembling a rhinoceros, some say female rhinoceros/
... modified by adding mention of "buffalo" since
1) M says 古代一種似牛的野獸。
2) Wiktionary says that "research suggests it probably originally referred to wild water buffalo (Schuessler 2007)*."

* Schuessler, Axel (2007). ABC Etymological Dictionary of Old Chinese, Honolulu: University of Hawaii Press
Diff:
- 兕 兕 [si4] /(meaning uncertain); rhinoceros (possibly female) or bull/
+ 兕 兕 [si4] /animal cited in ancient texts, resembling a buffalo (some say rhinoceros or female rhinoceros)/
