"twin" is often, or usually, a noun -- "either of two offspring produced in the same pregnancy".

But 孿生 is an adjective, not a noun.

I propose to add two constructs for illustration purposes.

- 孿生 孪生 [luan2 sheng1] /twin/
+ 孿生 孪生 [luan2 sheng1] /(adj.) twin/
+ 孿生兄弟 孪生兄弟 [luan2 sheng1 xiong1 di4] /twin brothers/
