Technically, I suppose you could say it's a *partial* variant of 芒, but only in one word: 杧果. Here are some words containing 芒 that I found in TP: 芒草, 光芒, 鋒芒畢露, 刀芒, 芒刺 I don't think 杧 can be validly used as a variant in any of these. |
