<< review queue entry 69995 - submitted by 'richwarm' >> 1. Construct. 2. It's a noun -- not a verb ("fig. to scheme; to calculate (i.e. plot)"). Example: 李雅卿舉了另一個例子。有一次,種籽學院的一位孩子怎樣也無法接受「3/7 ÷ 1/2=6/7」的結果,老師於是用具體的大餅切割,一步步講解讓他明瞭除法的運算法則,等到他真正接受「分數除法是倒過來乘」的觀念,已經是一個月以後了。 Li gives another example: Once a child at the Seedling School wouldn't accept that 3/7 ÷ /2 = 3/7 x 2/1 = 6/7. The teacher turned to the concrete world and carved up a big cake, doing it one step at a time to let the child understand. It was a month before the kid really understood that "dividing with fractions is the same as multiplying with them upside down." In this example, we see that 運算法則 doesn't refer to division itself, but rather the procedure one follows in order to perform division (in this case, division by a fraction). So it's *not* "rules of calculation (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)". Rather, it's "rules for doing addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, or any other type of calculation". It includes log calculations, for example: log函数的运算法则:log(MN)=logM+logN,log(M/N)=logM-lnN, i.e. 运算法则 is just "rules for doing calculations". Which shows how it's a construct: it's simply "rules (法则) for doing calculations (运算)". |
