Thesaurus (English: lexicon, wordbook) refers to the vocabulary used by a person, a language, or a professional knowledge (such as navigation, medicine, etc.).
--------------------------------------

Editor: No, that's not what a thesaurus is. A thesaurus is a "book or electronic resource that lists words in groups of synonyms and related concepts."

As far as I can see, a 词库 need not be organized in groups of synonyms and related concepts.

We added an entry for 詞庫 twelve years ago, and the definition looks fine to me: "word stock; lexicon".

如何讓視障者融入職場,在政府沒有更積極的作法前,李秉宏已有「自救方案」。他說,先天失明者對文字毫無概念,打字時容易形成「同音異字」的錯別字,目前他自建了一個包括成語和法律常用字的詞庫,已累積五千個,希望能和視障者分享,
Other things can also be done to ease the entry of the blind into the sighted professional world. For example, because the congenitally blind cannot conceptualize written text, when typing they often end up with incorrect Chinese characters. This is because in Chinese there are many homophones. Sighted people usually enter text by phonetically typing in the sound of the word they want, then choosing the correct character among the homophonous options offered by the computer. A blind person who cannot know what the correct character should look like cannot possibly make such a choice, and the automatic default characters in the computer often turn out to be incorrect, especially when unusual characters are needed to type highly specialized terminology such as that used in the law. Lee has therefore created his own database of more than 5000 terms, including idiomatic expressions and common legal jargon, which he wants to share with other visually challenged people.

在這項研究上,他延續了以往對中國文字拆解的工作,進一步對常用約八千個中國字分析意義、分類組合,並建立詞庫,使電腦能夠接受,並了解中文的應用、思考方式。
In this research, he has extended his efforts to break down Chinese characters. He has made advancements in analyzing the meaning of 8,000 frequently used Chinese characters and in the sorting out and grouping of their types. Moreover, he has established a phrase bank to enable the computer to accept and understand the way Chinese is used and thought.

「如果資料庫完備,再加上一本語法、詞庫完整的電子詞典輔助,電腦語音輸入應該是很有前途的」,王教授表示,已經有許多教授要合力共同建立一套可用且具公信力的語音資料庫。
"If the data bank is comprehensive, with the help of a grammar and a complete electronic dictionary, computer voice entry systems should have a real future," concludes Professor Wang. Already several scholars are cooperating to establish a voice data bank that is practicable and publicly trusted.

好,那么首先我们先要来认识这样一个概念,那就是词汇是语言的信息库,根据乔姆斯基的词库理论,词库就是大脑内的一部字典、一个储存库。
OK. So first of all we have to understand a concept. The concept that vocabulary is the repository of a language. According to Noam Chomsky's theory lexicon, the lexicon is the brain's internal dictionary, a repository.

哦,我可以理解这个概念,每个个体都会根据自己的成长背景和知识经验形成自己的词库。
Oh, I understand that concept. Every individual will form their own lexicon based on their background and their known experience.

你真是忧国忧民,应该颁个大奖给你。不过我觉得不会这么极端吧。同样是微软,我自己倒是喜欢用智能ABC。它的词库很全。除了常用词,还有常用的方言词语和术语、人名、地名。还能自动记忆词库中没有的新词。

是的,人人都有自己的词库系统,这个系统里,包含着我们通过习得或学习而来的每个词汇的所有信息,包括某个词汇的文化、意义、发音、以及可搭配的词语等等。
Yes, everyone has their own lexicon system. This system includes all the data on words we acquire or learn, including the culture, meaning, pronunciation of a word and other words and expressions that go with it, and so on.

没错,换句话说,无论你大脑处理到哪一个语言阶段,都必须携带着最深层次的所有词汇信息。甚至我们说了一半却没说完的话,只要大脑帮你从词库里选出了词汇,背后的信息就会一层一层投射出来。
That's right. In other words, no matter what linguistic stage your brain is dealing with, it must bring the deep level data on every item of vocabulary. Even the things we start to say without finishing. The brain only has to help you choose a piece of vocabulary from the repository for the data to be projected on layer after layer in the background.

我们乔老先生在1986年的《语言的知识:本质、源头和使用》一书里,提出了现代句法研究最重要的原则——投射原则!投射原则说的是,词库这个大脑信息库,包含的所有信息,必须在句法的所有层面表现出来。
Old Mr Chomsky in his 1986 book 'The Knowledge of Language: Its Nature, Origin and Use' proposed the most important principle of contemporary syntactic research - the projection principle! The projection principle states that lexical structure, this repository of data in the brain, contains all the data, and must be represented categorically at every syntactic level.
