Btw, perhaps it's loose usage, but in TP, 結紮 is apparently used to mean castration (of male dogs) and spaying (of female dogs) -- although these surgeries are not examples of ligation, as far as I know. e.g. 為社區的狗進行結紮，arranged for stray dogs to be neutered, （捕捉、結紮、釋放） "trap, neuter, return."
