E.g. 打字的 is a typist (a person that types), and 辣的 is spicy food (a thing that is spicy). 口味 has two senses: 1. preference (in food) 2. flavor So 口味重的 can be analyzed as either 1. 口味(preference (in food)) (is for) 重(heavy (flavors)) 的 (person) i.e. person whose preference in food is heavy flavors, or 2. 口味(flavor) 重(is heavy) 的 (thing) i.e. strongly flavored food B) 口味重, the expression you submitted, on the other hand, means 1. taste preference is heavy (i.e. strong) 2. flavor is heavy (i.e. strong) (It's "heavy" as in "go heavy on the salt".)
