The Cambridge example is
"He has twice been convicted of robbery/arson."
他兩次被判犯有搶劫罪/縱火罪。

But this does not show that 判 means "convict".
Nor does Cambridge define "convict" as 判.
Their definition is 宣判…有罪,證明…有罪.
