It's not even included among the 47,000 characters of Kangxi. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kangxi_Dictionary Although it's in Hanyu Da Cician, the definition is 义未详。 i.e. They couldn't figure out what it refers to. This dictionary says it's pronounced bó, not bǔ. (And other sources say it might be pronounced bào.) https://www.moedict.tw/%E9%B8%94 They also say it resembles an egret (鷺鷥) rather than a goose. (Compare the legs of an egret and a goose!) Most dictionaries don't include 鸔, and it seems pretty pointless for us to spend time on characters like this. You may enjoy exploring the thousands of characters that nobody uses, but the more time we spend on them, the less time we spend on words that are actually used. |
