<< review queue entry 66535 - submitted by 'goldyn_chyld' >> K LA: 臺 飛機航行安全的簡稱。[例]〜紀錄。 TP~ 當這部沒有「試飛」就直接量產的飛機問世後,許多人都抱持著懷疑的態度,甚至當正式飛行後傳出發現瑕疵的消息時,輿論都為之嘩然。不過,最後證實原因是機門鬆動,並不影響飛安。同時,整個過程從草圖到正式量產僅花了不到原先一半的時間,大大提高了生產效率。 When this plane came onto the market, many people remained skeptical, and there was quite a controversy when some defects came to light after formal flying had begun. However, it turned out that the cause was a loose door, and there was no threat to flight safety. ------------------------------------ Editor: 1) I hope you don't mind me removing "abbr. for ..." LA gives 飛機航行安全 as a *definition* but doesn't say it's an abbreviation of that specific phrase. Yeah, I know we've been doing this sort of thing, but maybe it can go too far. And it makes the entry a lot longer. Let me know if you disagree. In this case (飛安), it seems like an etymological note that isn't really necessary (because it's pretty transparent that 飞 refers to aviation and 安 refers to safety.) Also, are we sure 飞安 isn't better described as an abbreviation of 飞行安全? 2) I think "aviation safety" is a better term. a) It's used in TP ~ 希望確實建立飛安機制,悲劇不再重演。"... and hope that the establishment of practical aviation safety mechanisms may prevent future tragedies." b) It's used in the official name of the Taiwan authority: 行政院飛安委員會表示, The Executive Yuan's Aviation Safety Council has indicated ... Later renamed "Aviation Safety Council" according to Wp: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taiwan_Transportation_Safety_Board c) Searching Wikipedia for 飛安 gets you to the following article 航空安全(重新導向自飛安) which links to the English article "Aviation safety". |
