<< review queue entry 61202 - submitted by 'sl89' >> I'm not convinced of the direct correlation with 爵位 in the original definition. 封爵 seems to be primarily a verb, and even when used as a noun it seems to refer to any noble title, not specifically to 爵位. MoE notes 冊封 as a synonym but not 爵位. In modern times it seems to used more as a translation of the British knighting. I just shortened the original definition but it probably should be deleted. 【Wenlin】 v.o. 〈trad.〉 ennoble sb. 【MoE】 封土地、授官爵。 《文選.傅亮.為宋公求加贈劉前軍表》 每議及封爵, 輒深自抑絕。 《三國演義.第二○回》 劉使君功大, 且待面君封爵, 回來未遲。 似 冊封 你准备好被封爵? Are you ready to be Knighted? 1953年的今天,温斯顿·丘吉尔被英国的伊丽莎白二世女王封爵。 1953 - Winston Churchill is knighted by Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. 法国荣誉军团勋章是法国政府颁授的最高荣誉,1802年由拿破仑设立以取代旧王朝的封爵制度。(宇轩) French Legion of Honor is the highest honor awarded by the French government, established by Napoleon in 1802 to replace the old dynasty knighthoods system.
