<< review queue entry 64504 - submitted by 'sl89' >> 【Wenlin】 n. shoulder-bone 【Pleco】 NOUN LITERARY shoulder 【LAC】 肩膀;指锁骨与肩胛骨上缘之间的部位。 【MoE】 肩膀。 在上次足球比赛中他的肩胛脱臼了. He dislocated his shoulder in the football game. 肩胛相当长, 肌肉发达但不是抗肩膀, 肩胛后仰. The shoulders are relatively long, muscular but not loaded, with good layback. 男孩的个儿还不到我的肩胛。 The boy hardly comes up to my shoulder. ------------------------------ Editor: Processing this for a second time! It turns out that 1) The Wikipedia article I quoted doesn't actually mention 肩胛. 2) Various dictionaries say that 肩胛 can refer to the back of the shoulder (HDC, Grand Ricci, and GF, for example). 3) At least two dictionaries other than ABC say 肩胛 can refer to the scapula -- Kuraishi's Chinese-Japanese dictionary (on which ABC based their original definition) and Grand Ricci, which includes the gloss "omoplate", which means "scapula". It's possible that usage is limited to TCM, though. |
