<< review queue entry 63458 >> side road in China. ----------------------------------- Editor: I don't think it means "byway" or "side road". I think it's just what you'd expect it to mean from the characters -- a diagonal (斜) road (街). There's a Wikipedia article on one such road: 西斜街 in Beijing.
