"當孝順的孫女" so it can be used with 的 as an adjective too
-------------------------------

Editor:
1) We *already* have an adjectival gloss in the definition ("obedient to one's parents").
2) "filially pious", though technically correct here, is an awkward expression. I want to avoid it. People often just say "filial" rather than "filially pious". Here's one of the examples I found: "Sometimes I can't help but wonder which of my five children will turn out to be the most filial."
3) I decided to rework the whole definition.
4) Regarding "to show filial piety towards (an older family member)":
As a verb, 孝顺 can take a direct object. Some examples ~
a) 她一定會像對待自己的父母一樣孝順公婆。
she promised her husband that she would treat her in-laws with filial piety just as if they were her own parents
b) 為什麼小孩子就應該孝順父母?
Why should children honor their fathers and mothers?
Diff:
- 孝順 孝顺 [xiao4 shun4] /filial piety/to be obedient to one's parents/
+ 孝順 孝顺 [xiao4 shun4] /filial/dutiful/devoted to one's parents (and grandparents etc)/to show filial piety towards (an older family member)/filial piety/
