<< review queue entry 63514 - submitted by 'polaris' >> 1、 From http://www.chinapress.com.my/20171110/%E6%A5%8A%E6%AC%A3%E5%84%92%EF%BC%9A%E3%80%8C%E8%83%A1%E5%90%8C%E3%80%8D%E6%98%AF%E5%95%A5%EF%BC%9F/ ----------------------------------------------- Editor: We tend not to mention it when the word is a loanword from languages other than English (such as Sanskrit, Mongolian etc). Not many other dictionaries mention that 玻璃 comes from Sanskrit, either. To my mind, loanword documentation tends to - clutter the entry - be difficult to verify in some cases - uses up time we could otherwise devote to the main task -- giving the meaning in English However, it's well established that we use the (loanword) tag for the case where the headword is a loanword from English. |
