The meaning of "destructive spoiling" is a bit obscure, I think.

Dr.eye
1.[Literal] to pull down the stage
2.to pull away a prop; to obstruct; to counteract; to pull the rug from under someone's feet; to cut the ground from under sb.'s feet

TP ~ 晚上,和大夥一起拆台,趕回潮州大本營。
In the evening he pitches in with everybody in dismantling the stage before hurrying back to base camp at Chaochou.

[Zhang Ziyi] went to Hollywood and got a lucky number as the first Chinese star there. When you get that lucky, there's no stopping you.
你这是什么心态?我们自己人在外发展得好,应该为她高兴才对。你怎么还拆人家的台呢?我觉得子怡挺好的。
What in the world do you mean? One of our own got far in the outside world. We should be happy for her. Why are you raining on her parade? I think Ziyi is great.

Chinese Primer ~ chai-tair 拆臺 / 拆台 to undermine (someone's) plans [264.11]

J ~ 美国银行拆台,让德国银行承担全部责任。
Diff:
- 拆臺 拆台 [chai1 tai2] /to undermine/destructive spoiling/
+ 拆臺 拆台 [chai1 tai2] /(theater) to dismantle the stage/(fig.) to pull the rug out from under sb's feet/to undermine sb's plans/
