"bribery" is inappropriate.

Bribery is defined as "the giving or offering of a bribe" at the Oxford Dictionaries website.
Encarta and Wiktionary have a similar definitions*.

受贿, on the other hand, refers only to *receiving* bribes, not offering or giving them.

* Wiktionary also has a technical, legal 2nd sense that says accepting bribes can be called bribery, but that's not the everyday usage of the word, I believe.
