"armistice day"?

That's normally capitalized -- Armistice Day -- and it refers to the end of WWI.

Wp ~ "Armistice Day is commemorated every year on 11 November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front of World War I, which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning—the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918."

But 终战日 can refer to the day *any* war ends, not just WWI.

3) A fictional war in a Japanese movie: 《

--------------------

And 终战日 is just 终战+日.

I have no idea what "cf Japan's surrender in WWII on 15th August 1945" is supposed to convey.
Does it mean "compare the end of WWI in 1918 with the Japan's surrender in 1945"?
What's the point?
