After sleeping on it, a couple more glosses occurred to me. I think these convey the meaning quite well, and having "squalid" makes it unnecessary to include "(typically, of an urban environment)", I guess. Of course, it can be a noun (squalid conditions) as well, as in the example in the original submission, 政府的整治脏乱差的行动很强 |
