3) There are four possible senses for "first satellite of Mars" that I can think of:
a) it's a literal interpretation of the three characters of the word 火衛一
b) Phobos became a satellite of Mars before Mars's other moon, Deimos. (The theory is that they were both captured by Mars from the asteroid belt.)
c) Phobos is first because a planet's moons are numbered from innermost to outermost when listed.
d) Phobos was the first moon of Mars to be discovered.

- I think (a) was probably intended, but if so, it's misleading (because it's ambiguous).

- A user could easily assume (b) is the intended meaning. But if (b) was intended, it doesn't belong in our definition (too encyclopedic), and in any case, astronomers don't know which of the two moons was captured from the asteroid belt first. They don't even know for sure that the "asteroid capture" theory is correct: "many are examining the idea that the moons formed in orbit around Mars, accreting from debris in the aftermath of a big impact".

- If (c) was intended, it would be clearer to say "innermost satellite of Mars".

- If (d) was intended, it's wrong. Deimos was discovered several days before Phobos.
