他命令军队无论如何也要夺回营地。
He ordered the army to recapture the camp at any cost.

正如萨罗山所言:"过去几年,共和党人觉得这个选区理应是他们的,只要有合适的候选人,他们就能夺回这个选区。
As Saroshan says, “Republicans felt for a few years that the district was rightfully theirs and with the right candidate they would take it back.

Editor: once again, one of those resultative constructs, and why not (within reasonable limits)? even though the meaning of this is evident.
However it feels as if Pleco and Wenlin missed sth; forget about recapturing lost territory, retaking cities etc. You can very simply 从他手里夺回 sth, and that is very common.
Diff:
# 奪回 夺回 [duo2 hui2] /retake/recapture/

+ 奪回 夺回 [duo2 hui2] /to take back (forcibly)/to recapture/to win back/
