Fairly construct-y, but LAC and Pleco have it. Seems linked to state-planned economy, perhaps, in which case the def could be expanded? (leaving it here in case someone already knows about this, before I have time to look into it)

Editor: To me, the term "commodity grain" wasn't much more helpful than the Chinese term, and I wasn't immediately able to find a definition of "commodity grain" on the Web. See the RQ for what I managed to find, which includes the following ~
