For example, a a German book will be referred to as being in 西语 by someone who doesn't know which language it is, it doesn't mean it's in more than one language. (http://book.kongfz.com/195160/684066647/). 西语 really refers to unspecified European languages, especially if written in the Latin script. I don't think "western languages" is a useful technical distinction but it is the common translation. |
