Comment: 1) It's not just "sb who is well-connected" in general.
Rather, it's sb who is well connected to the person showing favoritism.

2) As far as I can tell 裙帶關係 (in the more general sense) is broader than either cronyism or nepotism. The former relates to friends and associates, while the latter relates to relatives.

"Cronyism is a more specific form of favoritism, referring to partiality towards friends and associates. [...] Nepotism is an even narrower form of favoritism. Coming from the Italian word for nephew, it covers favoritism to members of the family."
