Maybe "brave" was intended as a verb? - I think that sense is not "to risk" but "to face" - adj? well, borderline. But it's more "reckless" than "bold" - "to act under false pretences"--see history. I don't think that's quite correct; there is no "act" in the word. - I don't think "to cover" is a contemporary sense, thus I tag it. Maybe that old sense gives some insight into the evolution of this word. |
