"thaw" in this sort of context means becoming *less stiff* (more cordial), whereas with 冰釋, the metaphor is of melting away & *disappearing* (完全消失, as M puts it) -- rather than becoming less stiff. 2) "(or misgivings, differences of opinion)" Presumably a typo. or --> of 3) "to dispel" implies transitive usage, whereas dicts all seem to be saying it's intransitive. -------------------- 有些苦，笑一笑，就冰释了。 |
