I don't thing it's useful to give nouns--especially when they are just noun versions of the verbs: /to doubt/ -> /doubt/ 2. from an English point of view, 怀疑 has two senses: GF ①动心存疑惑。 我不怀疑这件事的真实性。 ②动推测。 我怀疑这是他干的。 and that, I know, is a challenge for elementary learners, who might tend to read 我怀疑这是他干的 as "I doubt that he did it" (thanks to various CE dicts) re-ordering; making "skeptical" into "to be skeptical of"; making "to suspect" into "to suspect that" (clearer) 3. I think I can evidence an intermediary case, for which a quick G search gives me examples such as: 讓大家都很懷疑到底是不是真實存在 真爱是不是存在我很怀疑 我很懷疑他是不是女的 for which I tentatively added /to have one's doubts/to be suspicious/ i.e. to be full of doubts, to feel unsure maybe /to be suspicious/ is better as /to harbor suspicions/ ? |
