Can we do better than this? What sort of writing is that?!

Our def is clearly based on the definition in Xinhua, Baidu etc. ~ 似眠蚕状的字迹。

From what I can gather, it's the *eggs* that hibernate during the lifecycle of the silkworm:

"The eggs of this type hibernate during winter due to the cold climate"
"the second generation eggs do not hibernate and hatch"
"Bivoltine eggs incubated at a temperature above 25°C produce moths that lay hibernating eggs, while those incubated at lower temperature (below 25°C) produce moths that lay mixed and fully nonhibernating eggs."
etc.

Maybe it's more like "handwriting that resembles newly hatched silkworms"?
