If retained, "in-and-out" should have hyphens.
I've submitted
- 凹凸 凹凸 [ao1 tu1] /bumpy/uneven/slotted and tabbed joint/crenelation/
+ 凹凸 凹凸 [ao1 tu1] /concave and convex/bumpy/uneven/
Maybe we could add "corrugated" to that.
