"trauma" is the *initial* physical injury (or stressful mental experience) and a 傷疤 is the damage (not "trauma") that remains some time later. "scar" seems fine as a definition in all the TP and J examples I looked at. In almost every case, the scar was the result of physical injury. In cases where the usage was figurative, "scar" was still fine as a definition: e.g. J ~ "Earthquakes leave scars in the earth's crust." 地震会在地球外壳上留下一些伤疤。 |
