MW ~ a person who adjusts matters or disputes by negotiation OED ~ One who fixes. Now, esp. one who arranges or adjusts matters (often illicitly). 1959 The second [group in Parliament] are the onlookers, the fixers, and the rank and file. In politics, a fixer is something like a power broker. That seems like it may fit this J example: 没错儿，我就恨这个。现在，我们要的是强有力的、主见的领导人，可不是和事佬儿。 |
