1. first gloss: it's verbal; and /a still pose/ doesn't really enlighten me unless I think of opera.

I'm not so sure about what follows, so please feel free to modify:

2. the most common use nowadays would correspond to LA's:
比喻公開露面或表演。
I'm familiar with that.
/to make a public appearance/ (/to appear in public/ is maybe just as good)

3. /to reveal one's position/
first, that sounds ambiguous. Really, I thought of a military context.
Probably corresponds to this in M:
比喻公開表示態度、立場或說明觀點。
weeeell, ok. But example is:
「蟄伏了一段時間後,他終於公開亮相,說明事情的原委。」
and that, I'm sorry, sounds like "to come out in public"; certainly the idea of "...to explain oneself" is implicit, but still has to be explicitly stated later.
However, from the look of the word, 亮相 *could* mean /to make one's point of view known/, /to make a public statement/, sth

4. /to see the light of day/ -- can't quite imagine.
Diff:
- 亮相 亮相 [liang4 xiang4] /a still pose on stage/to appear in public/to reveal one's position/to see the light of day/
# + 亮相 亮相 [liang4 xiang4] /to strike a pose (Chinese opera)/(fig.) to make a public appearance/to come out in public/
+ 亮相 亮相 [liang4 xiang4] /to strike a pose (Chinese opera)/(fig.) to make a public appearance/to come out in public (revealing one's true personality, opinions etc)/(of a product) to appear on the market or at a trade show etc/
