<< review queue entry 55926 - submitted by 'richwarm' >> Suggest adding "proper" for 像樣. Some questions: 1) Do we need an entry for 不像樣 if we have 像樣? 2) Is "beyond recognition" ok for 不像樣? Any examples? 3) If we keep 不像樣, I think "unseemly" and "improper" might well be good glosses to add. I think it's used in that sense in LA's definition of 不倫. Editor: rejecting after discussion. Our defs are certainly not the best nor definitive. 像樣 is one of those simple words, although you understand them, it's difficult to give a gloss that covers everything. We may feel the urge to add a specific *translation* for a specific sentence, but we should only do that if the added gloss gives a new understanding of the word. |
