<< review queue entry 57729 - submitted by 'goldyn_chyld' >> ## segment 26 / 37 << resubmitted review queue entry 52746 - submitted by 'jackindavao' >> Submissions in this batch pertain to patents. These are terms obtained by reading a number of Chinese patents, and figuring out the definitions from context and comparison with similar US patent terminology and usage (I am a patent lawyer), with help and confirmation from WenLin, Google translate, comparison of Chinese patents with filed US translations (not machine translations), and other online tools such as iciba.com, and of course cedict. If you (editor) think any of these are wrong, I'd appreciate knowing your thoughts, my email is jackindavao@gmail.com. Editor: that's what 所示 means, it's not a word. One has to understand 所, and then all similar constructs are transparent; some practice of classical Chinese may help here. I understand that's not how a professional translator works: what he wants is an instant translation, whether he understands in depth or not. So he makes lists of equivalents. But cedict is not a translator's notebook. |
