defs in different dicts vary, and all tend to give too much weight to "promotion"

I am trying to keep this short, and in accordance with actual usage.
After all, this means simply "to lift up"

- 擡舉 抬举 [tai2 ju5] /to praise/to promote (as a favour)/
+ 抬舉 抬举 [tai2 ju3] /to lift sth up/to elevate sb/to honor sb (with compliments, gifts, promotions etc)/to show great regard/to speak highly/
