Let me know if this is too "fiddly".
I think "to bruise" is off the mark.
LA ~ 皮膚因粗糙物體摩擦而受傷。
Bruising is about "rupturing underlying blood vessels" rather than damaging the skin.

J examples suggest verb glosses would be better at the head of the def.
