"jealous" can mean
1. Envious or resentful of the good fortune or achievements of another
2. Fearful or wary of losing one's position or situation to someone else, especially in a sexual relationship

Perhaps we should make it clear which sense(s) apply in these entries.
LA ~
妒嫉 ~ 因別人勝過自己而心生怨恨。
妒忌 ~ 因別人勝過自己而心生怨恨。
Seems like they are both sense #1 only.

TP ~ 曾被妒忌她成績的同學戲弄地把輪椅推到樓梯口做勢放手,而嚇到渾身發抖;
and in school classmates jealous of her grades would push her wheelchair toward flights of stairs, leaving her utterly terrified.
Diff:
- 妒嫉 妒嫉 [du4 ji2] /to be jealous/
